Eric Owen Moss started his office in 1973 in Los Angeles, California. Since its inception, Eric Owen Moss Architects has designed and built many outstanding buildings that reflect a unique design vision and craft. Under the direction of Mr. Moss, the office strives to create powerful and clear design solutions individual to each project and to each client. The office is composed of 25 experienced, talented, and creative professionals capable of meeting all the demands of a project.

EOM has designed and completed a wide variety of projects, involving both new construction and unusual renovation and reconstitution of existing structures. The work of the office has included university facilities, office buildings, corporate headquarters, cultural institutions, theaters, galleries and exhibition spaces, restaurants, urban fabric and public space, housing, and private residences.

Each project is investigated thoroughly at the schematic design level with models and drawings. The use of these tools follows the project through to completion. Ranging from rough studies to museum-quality pieces to precise computer modeling, models and drawings are used to develop and gain an understanding of the nature of a project and its evolution, and to communicate that understanding directly to the client.

Through years of experience, EOM has developed an architectural language that reflects an understanding and exploration of a building's impact on its environment. Yet architects and buildings are not isolated from the world, and EOM acknowledges the contributing factors of context, site, client and program, design and detail in every aspect of the work.

One of the office's greatest strengths is working with clients and their programs. Every building is a solution of specific programmatic needs, but simply providing a solution is the minimum standard of performance. Our architectural interests result in a meticulous attention to detail. The way things are put together and the materials they are made from combine to produce buildings that communicate the care taken to achieve the project. By designing each and every aspect of the building, from general organization to the nuts and bolts, and through careful oversight during construction, we produce high-quality architecture at every scale.
